That is not to say the outcome doesn't matter.
The game plays really well, it is linear, so no matter how badly or well you do, you will always fight the same battles. It's still in pre-release, but the game is in constant development, every month there is an update with added content (scenarios and campaigns). A lot of fun, fairly easy and quick to get into it, but can take hours, days to master. It's a tactical level/brigade level wargame. The amount of customization is ridiculous, in a good way.
Nothing wrong with it, but some of the mechanics I feel like are a bit too abstract and rely a lot of random chance than I like it. I like it, but I find it a bit cumbersome, it reminds me a lot of a table top game translated to a PC game. Civil War II is a great grand strategy game.
